Leading Frozen Yogurt Chains Launch Splatoon-themed flavours in partnership with Nintendo of Canada for the launch of Splatoon
Toronto, Ontario – May 22, 2015) Nintendo of Canada and Canadian frozen yogurt leaders, Yogen Früz® and Yogurty’s® Froyo®, launched a multi-faceted campaign to promote the Nintendo Action-Shooter, Splatoon. Yogen Früz® and Yogurty’s® will promote the highly-anticipated Wii U game in over 100 stores across Canada starting June 1, 2015
“We are very excited to be working with Nintendo of Canada to bring our franchisees and customers a very exciting promotion just in time for the summer season,” said Aaron Serruya, CEO of Yogen Früz and Yogurty’s.
Yogurty’s is producing a trio of Splatoon inspired froyo® flavours including Squidsicle, a refreshing non-dairy mango popsicle sorbet and Inkberry, a creamy probiotic, low-fat, berry frozen yogurt. Twisting the 2 Splatoon flavours together creates the third Splatoon flavour, which Yogurty’s is calling Squid Ink.
With its near-unlimited option of custom fresh-made probiotic flavours, Yogen Früz® is introducing a pair of fun and unique toppings to support this promotion. During the promotion period customers may top their frozen yogurt with ‘popping bubbles’, which are small liquid-filled spheres available in either mango or strawberry flavours.
“This represents a great alignment to bring our customers an enhanced in-store experience while getting the word out about Splatoon, a fantastic new Wii U game,” noted Adam Zarudny, Marketing and Creative Director at Yogen Früz and Yogurty’s.
During the promotion period – June 1 to September 8, 2015 – a select number of Yogurty’s® stores will have Nintendo Wii U stations with the Splatoon game available for customers to play. Additionally, both Yogen Früz® and Yogurty’s® customers will have a chance to win over $5000 in prizing including a Wii U Special Edition Deluxe Sets using the hashtags #InkYourFruz (for Yogen Früz®) and #SplatYourFroyo (for Yogurty’s®).
“We’re thrilled about this partnership and think our fans will love this integrated collaboration with Nintendo’s Splatoon!” commented Jenifer Yu, Social Media and Community Manager for Yogen Früz® and Yogurty’s®. “We can’t wait to see everyone’s Splatoon themed froyo® creations!”
